May 2011- Diagnosed with Luteal Phase Defect and started taking 50mg clomid
September 2011- First meeting with reproductive endocrinologist, Dr Hayslip at ECU Women's Physician.
- husband's seman analysis, perfect!
- HSG, also known as a hysterosalpingogram. In other words, an extremely painful procedure where dye is forced through your fallopian tubes and observed through a series of xrays to make sure tubes are clear. Mine was all clear!
- Progesterone check to make sure I'm ovulating.....all good!
- Started taking tamoxifen
- Dr Hayslip diagnosed us with unexplained infertility and suggested trying a few more medicated cycles before moving on to more complicated procedures.
February 2012- Still on tamoxifen and monitoring ultrasound shows a good sized but irregular shaped follicle. Dr says we won't benefit from IUI this cycle.
March 2012- First IVF consultation and start taking birth control again. This kind of threw me for a loop. I was wondering why in the world I would need to be on birth control when I was trying to get pregnant. The purpose is to suppress the ovaries as much as possible before stimulating them for egg retrieval.
April 2012- Injections teaching, ordering medications, and finish birth control.
May 2012- Busy month.....starting injections!
To be continued..... :)
